Description | I have found a really interesting feature at the Mini Autodromo Jody Scheckter Fiorano. They have sticker printers to print out your number to use on the car. And i find it very useful and pretty awesome.
When you register they print out a barcode and that barcode is then used to get your number. The software that reads the barcode and then print out the stickers is connected to their main program called Xracer. The program also know witch number you had last time you printed numbers so if you already have that number you should have in the final it doesn't print it again. On the stickers it also print which heat/final you are running in. Maybe this feature already exist in the RCM Registration? Maybe something to implement in the next version. I have shared this video in the our national RC group on Facebook and everybody thought it was a cool thing to have. A guy also contacted me on Facebook asking for details. I send you some pics and also a video showing the setup and how it works: Video: https://youtu.be/F62j-w2N2c4 IMG: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_aA8CLUPu-oS2VYb0tjQkxCQlE?usp=sharing I was trying to attach the images but your email server said that the email was to big. I know a little bit of how it works because i asked the timekeeper. So if you have any questions feel free to ask :) My home track could also be interested in this feature, if you need beta testers for example :) |

Oct 18, 2016 6:29:08 AM | Felix Romer | Thanks for your interest in this feature. I have just written to the track owner to send me a picture of the model number. But he says it's just a normal thermal printer. I send you a link when I know the model (should be tomorrow). |
Jan 18, 2017 6:43:02 PM | Felix Romer | Yesterday I saw a printer called Zebra, which they use in my local post office. And he said that the printer was the best printer they ever had.
Here is the model that they use with plastic thermal labels. http://www.thebarcodewarehouse.co.uk/shop/zebra/label-printers/zebra-gk420t/ Often some research the Zebra printer looks like a very popular brand |
Jun 27, 2017 6:39:21 AM | Felix Romer | In my club we-ve got a Sato printer (https://www.satoamerica.com/products/desktop-printers/cg-series.aspx) to print name and position on the trophies at the end of the race and I guess this new feature can be really great for us. Can you tell me more about what you think to do ? |
