Description | If the time schedule sets the start of a heat at 10.00 and you use the atomated event control, then count down starts before 10.00
so if you set in the section the count down to 3 minutes, the count down itself starts at 09:57 this may be good but for big events , and if you need to start race procedure, and it means procedure starts with the start of the count down because it is a warm up time, then you might need to set the start of the count down time, and warm up time, at 10.00 (and not at 09.57 as it is by default) in the latest WC in Spain, of course we did it like that, but we need to inform team managers and drivers they will star runing for warming up 3 minutes before the time schedule (both in RCM and pdf published) announced or setted of course we can program or set the time schedule in RCM setting 10.00 plus count down time, it is 10:03 to be sure drivers start their warm up time at 10:00 as the official time schedule published says but this is not nice or good because then we will have an "internal" time schedule for RCM (published in the web) and the right one in paper published in the track board why not to have, as we do now, only one time schedule both in RCM and paper with the same data, all with 10.00 as starting time being sure our starting procedure starts at then and the count down also starts at then I think that with a general setting allowing us to set it like that -> count down starts before scheduled starting time for a heat (here it time is 10.00 -- a 3 min count down starts at 09:57 as it is now) or -> count down starts when heat time is scheduled (here a 3 minutes count down starts at 10.00) please consider it to do easier (team managers and drivers) to understand and follow our time schedules thanks!!! |

Nov 12, 2023 2:19:43 PM | Felix Romer | In this moment RCM starts the countdown always before the start time set in the race time schedule
But in most of the races it confuses drivers Because for a driver all race procedure starts when the time schedule sets For example if my heat starts at 10:08 and the starting procedure is staggered start with 3 minutes warm up, in the normal procedure used all starts at 10:08, I mean the warming time, and 3 minutes later, the clock starts when the first car passes over the loop I remark, all starts for me at 10:08, as published in the time schedule, and NOT at 10:05 because RCM starts the count down (the warm up time) before the time set in the time schedule That´s why I need to decide if the count down starts after (my case) or before the time schedule time This will allow us to follow our real procedure, we open the track at 10:08 , and after running the warm up time (count down) the clock starts, at 10:11 It is what drivers ask us to do as time keepers, it is not a timekeeper “wish” and in fact how we run races with RCM, so I must use the manual start … or create two time schedules, one for publishing and one for RCM (that confuses all drivers who look for their heat times in our website) |
